Who We Are:
Coalition Opposed to Violence and Extremism, (COVE) is an alliance of public and private civil rights organizations, community human relations, law enforcement, advocacy, religious and educational organizations in Maryland and the Washington, D.C. area.
What We Do:
The Coalition Opposed to Violence and Extremism (COVE), formed in 1979, pursues activities that oppose, resist and eliminate bigotry, prejudice, violence and extremism based on race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation and disability. The organization is also committed to fostering an understanding and tolerance amongst diverse groups in the community.
Membership is open to any individual or organization which subscribes to the purpose, goals and philosophy of COVE.
Our Goal:
Our goal is to foster peaceful coexistence among diverse groups in the community. in addition, COVE cooperates with local, state and national leadership to develop:

Meetings:
COVE meets on the first Tuesday of each month (except July and August) at 10:00 a.m. at the Government Building, 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive, Howard County Office of Human Rights, Columbia, Maryland 21045.

- an effective response to hate crimes and violence;

- an informational clearinghouse on issues related to hate group activity and incidents of violence and extremism.
